I know that just from the title I’m going to receive a lot of judgement from people, but don’t tell me that you haven’t at least thought about it. Anyways, let’s get one thing straight, I’m not ashamed that I decided to enter the world of sex work. I’m a successful young, college graduate with a Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations. I have a stable 9 to 5 job that I’ve been at for over a year now, working in an advertising agency. Also, sex work is legitimate work.
I haven’t been at the Only Fans thing for long, but what I can say is that what people say about it is 100% true. Only Fans is great for extra income. Besides, who wouldn’t want some extra drinking money or a little extra cash to spend on a new outfit or two. Treat yourself. I sure as hell do.
So why am I telling you all of this? Because I feel that it’s important to share some insight into a whole other world that’s been stigmatized by our society.
Let’s start with how I got the idea. One of my close friends had told me that she had decided to start one and within a day she had made over $100. That alone was just about all I needed to convince me that this was a great idea. I continued to do a little research and decided that I wanted to see how this could go.
I really wasn’t expecting to make much upon starting my account. I would have been happy making $60 or so. I was just hoping to have some fun with it. And as a single woman, I’m really allowed to do whatever the hell I feel like doing, so I made my account.
Now I’ve been doing this for over a month and I’ve already learned a lot. So, if you’ve been considering making an account for yourself I’m here to tell you, just fu*king do it! Here’s what I’ve discovered so far since jumping on the Only Fans bandwagon.
You’ll find a whole new sense of confidence.
Before I started selling nudes, I was nervous that I was “too fat” to even be doing this. My biggest fear was that someone would say something about my weight or point out any insecurities I had. But I have yet to receive any critiques on my body. In fact, my subscribers love my body and are constantly supporting and complimenting me. Sometimes that reassurance from other people can make you appreciate parts of yourself you never thought you would.
I even got offered the opportunity to do a professional photo shoot for my page. So, of course being the spontaneous person that I am I decided to follow through with the shoot. After a few shots of tequila, I loosened up, found my zone and my inner confidence came through. I’m so glad I decided to take this risk because I absolutely love how my photos turned out.
People will shit on you. Not literally, but you’ll probably receive some hate. And that’s okay.
Oops. Some people might not like that you have an Only Fans account, but it’s not their decision. It’s yours. When I made my account, I decided that I wasn’t going to let anyone’s opinion of me change the way I thought about myself. I honestly think it’s sad that our society has made something that’s so natural out to be shameful. But once I realized that it doesn’t have to be that way, I became okay with the fact that people I know will probably find out sooner or later.
You have to from your own opinions about yourself and live your own life. If it feels right to you then do it. It doesn’t matter what anyone else thinks.
You’ll learn a lot about people… and their fetishes.
So this has by far been the most interesting part to me, fetishes. I knew of all the different fetishes I might encounter while being on Only Fans, but I didn’t know how common a lot of these were. The most popular ones were the male wanting to be dominated and you guessed it, feet pics.
However, I encountered some other not as common ones like video recording the back of my throat, wanting to be insulted, simply wanting to throw ridiculous amount of money at me, and even asking for used panties. I haven’t catered to everyone’s fetishes, but I’ve learned a lot anyways.
It’s not always easy money.
How hard can taking a picture be? Believe it or not, it takes a lot more work than you’d think. When people subscribe to my account, I want them to feel that they’re getting their money’s worth. I also want them to feel that the experience is personalized towards them.
To do this, I’ve spent hours trying to snap the perfect pictures, record the right video with just the right lighting and angles to really give the people what they want. I’ve even tried to arrange some collaborations. And not to mention there’s only so many ways to take nudes before you really have to start getting creative.
There will also be days when you don’t feel sexy, but you still have to put out content. There’s quite a bit of subscribers who will try to seek a lot of attention from you and at times it can be emotionally draining.
And don’t forget you’ll have to constantly advertise your page, no matter how annoying you feel doing this. Advertising is the only way you’re going to get subscribers. Try creating a private Snap story or only allowing certain people to view your Instagram story. These tricks work great if you’re not comfortable with everyone and their mother knowing about your page.
So, yeah. These are a few of the things I’ve learned so far during my Only Fans journey. It’s been really interesting and overall totally worth it for me. If you’re considering making an account weigh the pros and cons and decide what’s right for you!
